Two-Day Intensive
This two-day intensive mimics the low-residency Writing for Children and Young Adults Program at Hamline University and features lectures from four accomplished faculty.

"Writing in First Person: Common Mistakes and How to Fix Them," by two-time Newbery Medalist Erin Entrada Kelly

"First Chapters: Entwining Tension and Exposition," by two-time National Book Award Finalist Eliot Schrefer

"Character: Creating Emotional Depth and Internal Plot Structures," by Pura Bulpre Medalist Ari Tison
-
"How to Outline Your Novel without Freaking Out," by NAACP Image Award Finalist Sherri Smith
There will also be generative writing time and ample Q&A.
This virtual workshop is designed for writers at all levels. Cost is $300.

Feedback Option
Feedback on your first 20 pages is available on a first-come, first-served basis at an additional cost of $100, to be billed separately. There are only ten spots available. Audio feedback of ~five minutes will be provided by one of our faculty members. (Please note, we are not able to accommodate personal requests for faculty).

Hamline MFAC Scholarship

Hamline MFAC will offer one scholarship to a student in need. If you are unable to pay the registration fee and would like to be considered for a scholarship, please submit a brief summary (~100 words) explaining why you want to take this workshop to workshops@erinentradakelly.com. Your submission will be reviewed by Hamline MFAC faculty.
